Announced

Seven faculty members from across Harvard Medical School (HMS) have been selected for the 2025-2026 Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education.

April 11, 2025

Seven faculty members from across Harvard Medical School (HMS) have been selected for the 2025-2026 Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education.  The Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education is a nationally recognized faculty development program – one of the first of its kind – in its 28th year; it provides intensive training and protected time for HMS faculty to advance careers in academic medicine as educational leaders.  The Fellowship is named for Mitchell T. Rabkin, MD, CEO emeritus of Beth Israel Hospital, who was instrumental in the creation of the Shapiro Institute for Education and Research, which sponsors the fellowship. This year, we are excited to have a Kay Senior Fellow join our class.

The fellowship is co-led by Celeste Royce, MD and Anita Vanka, MD. Dr. Royce is the Clerkship Director and Director of Undergraduate Medical Education for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Course Director for the BRIDGES course at Harvard Medical School. She is Assistant Professor for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School.   Dr. Vanka, in addition to being Co-Director of the Rabkin Fellowship, is Associate Director & Advisor of the Hinton Society at HMS and Associate Director of the Principal Clinical Experience at BIDMC.  She is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
