This year, six faculty members across Harvard Medical School (HMS) have been selected for the 2026-2027 Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education. The Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education is a nationally recognized faculty development program – one of the first of its kind – in its 29th year that provides intensive training and protected time for HMS faculty to advance careers in academic medicine as educational leaders. The Fellowship is named for Mitchell T. Rabkin, MD, CEO emeritus of Beth Israel Hospital. This year, we are excited to have a Kay Senior Fellow join our class.

The fellowship is co-led by Celeste Royce, MD and Anita Vanka, MD. Dr. Royce is the Clerkship Director and Director of Undergraduate Medical Education for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Course Director for the BRIDGES course at Harvard Medical School. She is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Vanka, in addition to being Co-Director of the Rabkin Fellowship, is Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
